Forthcoming Events and Schedules
During the course of the year the Isle of Wight Riding Club organises a wide range of events which are open to both members and non-members. All are welcome to enter and our friendly club is happy to welcome and encourage all, from the most novice beginner to the more experienced and competitive rider, adult and child alike. The 'Wightlink' Winter Dressage Series held at Lake Farm encourages all levels of horse and rider. In this series points will be awarded to 1st - 4th in each section and a sash presented to the winner of each section after the final dressage in April 2012.
The Riding Club hold showjumping shows throughout the year, also a novice ODE, special christmas show and summer dog show.
There are mainland events during the year at which the club encourages members to enter, you can take part in a team, or individual. Any members wishing to put themselves forward for selection should notify Sue Holmes (seniors) or Fi Vanassche (juniors). There are non-competitive events organised on a regular basis, these include social evenings and spider rides. Mainland day trips can be arranged. These could include Badminton, Olympia and visits to competitive yards. Please use the contact form on this website if you have any ideas that you would like the committee to consider.

Tuesday 14th February there will be a Spider Ride with clear round jumping at Bohemia Farmhouse, Chequers Inn Road, Rookley (opposite turning to RSPCA). The cost will be £5.00 for the Spider ride everyone who turns up will receive a rosette, drink and a snack. There will also be clear round jumping at a cost of £5.00 a go, everyone who completes a clear round will receive a rosette. You can take part and do both the Spider ride & clear round jumping or you can just do the spider ride or the clear round its up to you! There will be people there to help if you need some encouragment round the jumps :-)

Including Dressage to Music - Affiliated Music Classes running from Novice to Advanced Medium and UNAFFILIATED MUSIC CLASSES PRELIM AND NOVICE. For those of you who would like to take part in the Riding Club Dressage to Music to be held on the 4th June this will be your only chance to practice your music infront of a judge on the island, so please get planning your music now!!
